How It Works

Because we recognize that each organization is unique, and individuals within each
organization are also unique, our coaching programs are focused on the specific
needs of each individual client. However, The Focus! Group follows a basic framework
that is designed to keep everyone focused on the task at hand – helping you achieve
You will meet with your coach on a weekly basis, or more frequently if requested,
via telephone or video conferencing service. Because we utilize toll-free telephone
and state-of-the-art conferencing services, we are available to speak with you no
matter where in the world your busy schedule may take you.
Each session will last approximately 60 minutes. We recognize that you may want
to communicate with your coach or receive encouragement in between regularly scheduled
appointments, so unlimited email contact is also included with all coaching programs.
We are committed to responding to your email within one (1) business day.
All of our appointments are scheduled in advance to give you appropriate time to
plan your schedule. In general, we try to schedule your appointment at the same
time and on the same day of the week to avoid confusion. However, we are happy to
accommodate special schedule requests – just ask!
Your scheduled coaching appointment is a time dedicated specifically to you, so
we ask that you provide adequate notice should you need to cancel. In general, cancellations
and requests to reschedule must be made at least 24-hours in advance of your appointment
time to avoid a cancellation fee.
Having a coach is often a totally new experience for clients because, for once,
the focus is entirely on YOU and what YOU desire to achieve. We encourage you to
take the process seriously and dedicate time to making the changes needed to achieve
your goals. You should be open and honest with your coach, including long-term dreams,
personal and professional issues that are impacting your development, and any other
information about you that is important.
Make your sessions a priority, and give it the time and attention it deserves. You
should take 15 minutes prior to the start of your appointment to clear your mind
and focus on the coaching process. We do not expect that there will be any interruptions
during your session, so please plan accordingly.
In order to instill a greater commitment to the coaching process, we are paid in
advance for each block of sessions. We are happy to accept Visa and MasterCard,
as well as personal and company checks (checks must be received 3 days prior to
the first appointment in the block). In some cases our fees may be tax deductible
as a professional development expense. We encourage you to consult your tax professional
for specific advice on deductions.
At the end of each session, you and your coach will agree on the work to be completed
before the next session. Assignments may include brainstorming, keeping a "diary"
of thoughts and experiences related to your coaching, reading support material,
or self-assessments. All agreed-upon assignments are due back to your coach no later
than 24-hours prior to our scheduled appointment.
Confidentiality & Ethics
In order for the coaching process to be most effective, it is important to build
rapport and mutual respect between the coach and the client. We consider all communication
to be confidential – giving you an opportunity to share personal thoughts and concerns
without fear that your issues will be shared outside the coaching relationship.
In our coaching, we adhere to the International Coach Federation (ICF) Core Competencies
and abide by the ICF Code of Ethics.
Your satisfaction with our coaching programs is a primary focus for us. Throughout
the coaching process, we will ask for feedback on your perceived progress and satisfaction
with the value you are receiving. If at any time you are not satisfied, your money
will be refunded – it's as simple as that.
